  • September is National Preparedness Month

    The theme for this year’s Ready Campaign promoting September as National Preparedness Month is Resolve to Be Ready in 2012. This public awareness drive encourages individuals and community leaders to make the resolution to take the necessary steps to be prepared for emergencies.

    Preparedness is an individual responsibility. By being prepared as individuals, we free up valuable resources, including allowing our first responders to assist those who are in the greatest need.

  • Rothan - Pendleton Wedding

    April Ann Rothan, daughter of Ronda Mishos and Marshall Lee Pendleton, son of Bonita Pendleton and the late Tommy Pendleton, joyfully announce their marriage.

    As precious as the ocean’s treasures, too strong for anyone to measure, two hearts joined together, sharing their lives forever.

    The union took place on July 11, 2012 at Berheim Forest Canopy Tree Walk, Clermont, KY. The couple now resides in Shepherdsville, KY.

  • BIRTH: Owen Richard Nall

     

    Tyler and Leeann Nall of Hodgenville announce the birth of their son, Owen Richard Nall. Owen was born June 29, 2012, he weighed 7 pounds 13 ounces and was 21 and a half inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Christine and Willie Davis of Hodgenville and Tim Carothers of Elizabethtown.

    Paternal grandparents are Charles and Pam Nall of Elizabethtown and Lisa Langley of Glendale.

    Great grandparents are Earnestine Nall of Rineyville, Charles and Libby Langley of Glendale, Rita Stradder of Elizabethtown and Livia Carothers of Radcliff.

  • Warren - Parsley Wedding

     

    Hardin & Karen Warren, of Magnolia, are pleased to announce the engagement and wedding of their only daughter, Tara Nicole Warren to Justin Wayne Parsley, son of Tony Parsley & Wendy Huff of Shepherdsville KY.

    An outdoor wedding is scheduled for September 8, 2012, at the Howell Family Farm, located 8 miles east of Hodgenville on HWY 210 beginning at 2 pm EST. A reception will immediately follow the ceremony. In the event of rain the ceremony and reception will be held at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, Buffalo KY.

  • White Coat Ceremony

    The University of Louisville School of Medicine Class of 2016 White Coat Ceremony was held at the Louisville Downtown Marriott on Aug. 5. Pictured is Samuel Sanders, son of Sam and Dee Anne Sanders. He is the grandson of Tony and Jean Carole Ennis and E.G. and the late Clara Sanders.

  • Dotson - Highbaugh Wedding

     

    The marriage of Teresa Dotson and Eric Highbaugh was performed July 28, 2012, at the Mt. Moriah Church in Mount Sherman.

    Ashley Young and Brittany Allen served as maids of honor and Jesse Highbaugh was the best man.

    Reception followed at the couple’s home on New Jackson Highway in Magnolia, where they will begin their life together. 

  • Annual Wheeler Reunion

     

    The annual Wheeler reunion was held July 8 at LaRue County Sportsman’s Club.

  • 240-foot tower built to serve local agencies

    Across the street from LaRue County High School last week, you may have noticed some fellows climbing about on top of a steel structure hundreds of feet in the air. Those were employees of the World Tower Co. of Mayfield.

    The wedding is 6 p.m. Aug. 11, 2012, at Gospel of Grace Baptist Church, 3426 Old Elizabethtown Road, Hodgenville.
