As the summer approaches, many people are looking forward to a family vacation. However, increasing prices for gasoline, airfare, lodging and entertainment may make this year’s summer getaway more difficult. Instead of canceling, there are several ways to trim the travel budget.
Outstanding volunteers and donors gathered May 7 to celebrate United Way of Central Kentucky's record-breaking 2011 campaign. This "thank you" event recognized the volunteers and leadership donors from their five-county region who provide the backbone for UWCK’s success.

Unemployed veterans aged 35 to 60 may qualify for up to 12 months of job training through the new Veterans Retraining Assistance Program.
VRAP will provide training for programs of education that lead to a high-demand occupation. The program, a joint effort of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Labor, will start July 1.
