    Hodgenville City Hall

    The Hodgenville City Hall will close at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 21 for training and administrative purposes.


    AGstravaganza Dinner on the Square

    The Faith, Family, Farms and Food dinner will be held on the square in downtown Hodgenville, at 6 p.m. Saturday, August 12. Tickets are on sale now. For more information call the LaRue County Farm Bureau office at 270-358-3178 or the LaRue County Extension office at 270-358-3401 to purchase a ticket.

  • Second annual Functional Art Group Show

    Art Gypsy is hosting their second annual Functional Art Group Show. Artisans show off their best functional wares including clothing, pottery, benches, tables and more which are available for purchase. Opening for the show was on Saturday, July 15 and featured demonstrations from the artists themselves. Art will be on display at Art Gypsy, located at 201 N. Lincoln Blvd., Ste. 3, in Hodgenville through August.

  • Farmer’s Market offers local flavors

    The LaRue County Farmer’s Market is still going strong with vendors set up from Hinton’s Orchard, Plowshares Farm, Adams Family Foods and more. The Farmer’s Market will continue on July 20 and 27 at the American Legion from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

    Snickerdoodle Cookies

    White cake mix

    2 eggs 

    1/3 cup oil

    1 tablespoon cinnamon

    Mix together.

    Shape into small balls

    Roll in cinnamon sugar

    Bake at 350 degrees

    10-12 minutes

  • Glen Rice concert is August 11

    The Glen Rice, Family and Friends Musical Concert Series returns to the Hardin County Schools’ Performing Arts Center in Elizabethtown for their “A Night to Remember” concert on Friday, August 11 at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6 p.m.

    The concert features Rice, Josh McMillen, Austin Reynolds, Drops of Mercy, Pat Portman, The Johnson Family, Christy Miller, Kelly Casey, Clinton Spaulding and more.

    Thought for the week: The best things in life are the people you love, the places you’ve seen and the memories you’ve made along the way.

    This past two weeks have seemed unreal and so sad due to the deaths of several friends and family members. Last Thursday, I went with the Sunrise Manor Adult Day Care to Sulfur Wells to the Lighthouse restaurant. I really enjoyed spending the day with the Adult Day Care clients. It was another thing checked off of my bucket list.
