    The Reverend Billy Curle was admitted to Hardin Memorial Hospital last week and has returned home.

    Charlene Embree Minard will be having surgery on August 1 at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

    Reverend Wilkinson was the guest preacher at First Baptist Church in Bonnieville for Reverend Robert Coulter’s Pastor Anniversary. Also, his sister Patrica was admitted to the hospital on Sunday, July 23.

    This Friday will be the Back to School Jam at First Baptist in Elizabethtown.

  • The Rock Fairy to visit CreekFront

    Rock painting, hunting and hiding have become a popular way for many LaRue Countians to spend their time. In Hodgenville, families can be seen downtown on the Square or at CreekFront Park walking around picking up little painted treasures at just about any point of the day.

    Some of these rocks have made their way all the way to New York and Florida. The LaRue County Library even set up a rock exchange, encouraging participants to bring in their painted rocks in exchange for others.

  • Birth Anouncement: Wood

    Scarlett Marie Wood

    Devin and Keisha Wood of Campbellsville would like to announce the birth of their daughter Scarlett Marie Wood.

    Scarlett was born on Friday, July 7 at Springview Hospital in Lebanon. She was 19.5 inches long and weighed six pounds and 14 ounces.

    Grandparents are Randy and Angela Price of Hodgenville and Curtis and Elizabeth Wood of Campbellsville.  

  • Engagement: French-Ellis

    Mr. and Mrs. J. Kevin French of Sarasota Florida announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Anne, to Robert Newman Ellis, son of Patricia Newman of Gainesville Florida, and Ralph Ellis of Atlanta Georgia.

    Emily is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jackie French of Hodgenville. She is a graduate of the College of William and Mary and Villanova Law School. She is employed at SumTotal Systems of Gainesville Florida.

    Robert is a graduate of Coker College. He is employed at the Wyndham Garden of Gainesville Florida.

  • Engagement: Parrish-Banks

    Patrick Banks of Elizabethtown and Grace Parrish of Boston announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage. The wedding will be Saturday, August 19 at 6:30 p.m. at Parkway Baptist Church in Hodgenville. No formal invitations have been sent. Friends and relatives are invited to attend.

    Banks is a 2007 graduate of LaRue County High School and works as an associate at AGC Automotive. He is the son of Jim and Theresa Banks of Elizabethtown.

    The Hodgenville City Hall will close at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 21 for training and administrative purposes.

    AGstravaganza Dinner on the Square

    The Faith, Family, Farms and Food dinner will be held on the square in downtown Hodgenville, at 6 p.m. Saturday, August 12. Tickets are on sale now. For more information call the LaRue County Farm Bureau office at 270-358-3178 or the LaRue County Extension office at 270-358-3401 to purchase a ticket.

  • Second annual Functional Art Group Show

    Art Gypsy is hosting their second annual Functional Art Group Show. Artisans show off their best functional wares including clothing, pottery, benches, tables and more which are available for purchase. Opening for the show was on Saturday, July 15 and featured demonstrations from the artists themselves. Art will be on display at Art Gypsy, located at 201 N. Lincoln Blvd., Ste. 3, in Hodgenville through August.
