  • ENGAGEMENT: Crystal Dawn Larimore and Nicholas Dylan Short

    Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Larimore of Horse Cave are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Crystal Dawn Larimore, to Nicholas Dylan Short, son of Don Short of Libby, Mont., and Timmy and Sherry Lee of Hodgenville.
    The bride to be is the granddaughter of Alice Larimore and the late William Haywood Larimore of Horse Cave, Bob and Vermalee Martz of Advance, N.C., and Don and Carolyn Wafford of Franklin.

  • ENGAGEMENT: Savannah Hines and Brandon Clemons

     Savannah Hines and Brandon Clemons announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

    The bride to be is the daughter of Ricky and Jamie Hines of Magnolia. She is a student at Lindsey Wilson College and employed by First Friends Childcare.

    The prospective groom is the son of Scott and Kim Clemons of Buffalo and employed at Tower Automotive.

    The wedding is 5:30 p.m. May 26, 2012, at Bluegrass Entertainment and Expo Complex with DeWayne Gibson and Norm Brock officiating. A reception will follow at that location.

  • Adoption Support meetings planned

    Adoption Support for Kentucky will meet at 916 N. Mulberry Street in Elizabethtown 7-9 p.m. May 18. The training will be on Reactive Attachment Disorder PT. 1 Participants do not have to be adoptive parents to participate.  Sessions are open to everyone. Childcare and refreshments provided.  

    ASK will meet 7-9 p.m. May 19 at 916 N. Mulberry St. in Elizabethtown. Training will be Reactive Attachment Disorder PT. 2. You do not have to attend both sessions. Adoption Support Groups are open to everyone. Childcare and refreshments provided.

  • ENGAGEMENT: Erin Leigh Heady and Ryan Keith Bratcher

    Jeff and Cindy Heady of Magnolia announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Erin Leigh Heady to Ryan Keith Bratcher, son of Keith and Patty Bratcher of Leitchfield.

    The bride to be is a 2008 graduate of LaRue County High School and a 2012 graduate of Western Kentucky University with a degree in elementary education.

    The prospective groom is a 2003 graduate of Grayson County High School and owner of Bratcher Construction in Leitchfield.

  • Kentucky Railway Museum offers 'A Day Out with Thomas'

    Thomas the Tank Engine will visit The Kentucky Railway Museum in New Haven June 2-3 and June 9-10.

    The event allows children and their families a chance to take a 25-minute ride with a 15-ton replica of Thomas, star of the Thomas and Friends series. It opens at 9 a.m. and closes at 6 p.m.

    There will be a hands-on arts and crafts station, train tables and coloring sheets, storytelling, video viewing and magic show.

    Tickets are $18 plus tax for ages 2 and up and available by calling 866-468-7630 or visiting www.kyrail.org.

  • LaRue residents may compete in Nelson County Fair pageants

    Entry forms and packets are now available for The Nelson County Fair Board open pageants to all residents of Kentucky. These pageants are the Miss Exceptional, Miss Nelson County, Miss Teen and Miss Pre-teen.

    The Stephen Foster Music Club recently concluded its fundraiser for this year’s Summer Band Concert Series in Bardstown, and has been busy lining up some great acts for this summer’s concerts.
