The Kentucky Office of Highway Safety last week honored 197 law enforcement officers from 164 agencies across the Commonwealth for their efforts to target impaired drivers.
The 2012 Governor’s Impaired Driving Enforcement Awards ceremony was held at the Galt House Hotel and Suites in Louisville. Awards were presented to officers with the most impaired driving arrests in each agency and division.
Some of Sunrise Manor Silver Angels staff and clients found their first train ride at the Kentucky Railway Museum to be a memorable experience. The activity was so well received by the public that it was necessary to add an additional car to accommodate the participants.
The majority of the children wore their pajamas for photographs with Santa. Betty Nevins thought that we were not appropriately dressed for the occasion in street clothes. The children were absolutely adorable and so well behaved after having to wait.
Cub Scout Pack 210 was given a tour Dec. 1 of the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Park and how families lived during the early 1800s. The Scouts were shown how Abe Lincoln's family cooked their food which used similar utensils as they did at their recent camp out at South Fork Baptist Church.
Pack 210 had a great turnout as 15 families bore the freezing temperatures on Nov. 16-17 to earn the right to carry pocket knives and to experience cold weather camping.
The National Corvette Museum has named the entire month of December “Dollar Days” for residents of Kentucky who visit the Museum. All month long, Kentucky residents can tour the Museum for a $1 admission per person, and will only need to show a Kentucky drivers license or other proof of residency to take advantage of the special offer.
Children will be admitted for $1 with adults presenting the Kentucky identification.
