Campbellsville University honored 166 teachers from 58 school districts throughout Kentucky with the Campbellsville University Excellence in Teaching Award May 10 at the Ransdell Chapel on the CU campus.
Helen Clark will celebrate her 102nd birthday on June 16, 2014.
She and her husband, the late Paul Clark, have five children: Geneva Viers, Doris Jones, Betty Allen and LeRoy Clark, all of Hodgenville, and Zelma Potts of Woodlawn, Tennessee; 13 grandchildren (two deceased); 33 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren.

Kenneth “Sonny” and Lois Jean “Jeannie” Ward Pence of Bonnieville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary this month.
The couple were married June 12, 1964, in Bonnieville.
Lois Jean Ward Pence is the daughter of the late John and Alma Ward of Bonnieville. She is retired from the Hart County School system where she worked for many years as the Hart County High School librarian and teacher at Bonnieville Elementary School.
On a lot that once housed troubled and orphaned children, 13 decaying structures now stand, taken over by nature. After five years of abandonment, the former Glen Dale Children’s Home property near Glendale will be sold at auction next month.
The property includes about 272 acres with premier road frontage. The sale is at 10 a.m. June 28. Proceeds benefit Sunrise Children’s Services.
