Above, Skaggs sang and played ukulele in the talent portion of the program. She is the daughter of Mike and Denise Skaggs of Hodgenville. Chaney Rose of Warren County won the event.

    James and Kimberly Manning of Hodgenville announce the birth of their daughter, EmmiLou Grace Manning.

    EmmiLou Grace was born at 9:10 a.m. Dec. 22, 2013. She weighed 6 pounds 14 ounces and was 19-inches long.

    She was welcomed home by her big brother Caden James Manning.

    Maternal grandparents are Kathleen and David Edlin of Elizabethtown.

    Paternal grandparents are Karen and Shawn Lafollette of Hodgenville.

  • Distinguished Young Woman

    Brigitte Skaggs, LaRue County’s Distinguished Young Woman contestant, traveled to Lexington Sunday to prepare for preliminary judging.

  • Miss Kentucky County Fair

    Patricia Ann Gibson, the daughter of Roger and Melanie Wells of Hodgenville, will compete, along with about 88 other young women, at the 2014 Miss Kentucky County Fair Pageant in Louisville this weekend.

    The contest is one of the highlights of the Kentucky Association of Fairs and Horse Shows Inc.’s annual convention and trade show. The 58th annual event is held at the grand ballroom at the Galt House Hotel.

    Gibson was crowned Miss LaRue County Fair and Most Photogenic last June.
