    Patricia Ann Gibson, the daughter of Roger and Melanie Wells of Hodgenville, competed at the 2014 Miss Kentucky County Fair Pageant in Louisville this weekend.

  • BIRTH: Manning

    James and Kimberly Manning of Hodgenville announce the birth of their daughter, EmmiLou Grace Manning.

    EmmiLou Grace was born at 9:10 a.m. Dec. 22, 2013. She weighed 6 pounds 14 ounces and was 19-inches long.

    She was welcomed home by her big brother Caden James Manning.

    Maternal grandparents are Kathleen and David Edlin of Elizabethtown.

    Paternal grandparents are Karen and Shawn Lafollette of Hodgenville.

    Brigitte Skaggs, LaRue County’s Distinguished Young Woman contestant, traveled to Lexington Sunday to prepare for preliminary judging.

  • Miss Kentucky County Fair

    Patricia Ann Gibson, the daughter of Roger and Melanie Wells of Hodgenville, will compete, along with about 88 other young women, at the 2014 Miss Kentucky County Fair Pageant in Louisville this weekend.

    The contest is one of the highlights of the Kentucky Association of Fairs and Horse Shows Inc.’s annual convention and trade show. The 58th annual event is held at the grand ballroom at the Galt House Hotel.

    Gibson was crowned Miss LaRue County Fair and Most Photogenic last June.

  • ANNIVERSARY: 50th year

    Donald L. and Betty J. Wright Vance of Elizabethtown celebrated their 50th anniversary Jan. 10, 2014.

    They were married Jan. 10, 1964, at Buffalo Baptist Church by Rev. Howard Matthews.

    They have one daughter, Karen V. Jury, and her husband Robbie, and three grandchildren, Kyle, Spencer and Rebecca Jury, all of Elizabethtown.
