    Carlos Cox was admitted to Hardin Memorial Hospital last week and remained a patient as of the weekend. A heart warm welcome back to Reverend Aaron Moss, Sr. as pastor at Lane Lincoln CME Church. A correction on the Steadfast Baptist Church, Rev. Troutman’s first name was spelled Roger instead of Rodney.

    Ron Sanders, President and Chief Executive Officer of Magnolia Bank announces the retirement of Reggie McCubbin, Senior Vice President. McCubbin began his banking career at the bank in 1980 and has been an integral part of the bank having served on the bank’s board, executive, funds management, the board of Lease one Magnolia, the commercial leasing division of the bank.

    Mother of the Year Award

    The Mother of the Year Award is sponsored by the LaRue County Extension Homemakers and will be announced at the LaRue County Fairgrounds during the AGstravaganza event on Friday, July 22 at 7 p.m. Nomination forms are available at the LaRue County Extension Office (270-358-3401) or can be found on the Extension Office website on the Family and Consumer Sciences page at http://larue.ca.uky.edu/FamilyConsumerSciences.

  • ANNIVERSARY: Benningfields Celebrate 50 years

    Wendell and Frieda (Thompson) Benningfield of Magnolia were married in Hodgenville, KY on July 9,1966.

    The couple has 4 children: Tim (Cathy) Benningfield of Shepherdsville, Ruth (Billy) Middleton of Magnolia, Mark (Nikki) Benningfield of Elizabethtown, and the late Robert Wesley Benningfield. They have 6 grandchildren- Courtney, Leah, Luke, Eli, Jaiden, and Logan.

    A celebration will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.,eastern time, on Saturday, July 16 at LaRue County Senior Citizens Center in Hodgenville.  Family and friends are welcome. No gifts please! 

  • WEDDING: Hughes - Gray

    Cole Hughes of Hodgenville and Jada Gray of Glendale will be united in marriage at 5 p.m. on July 16 at Glendale Christian Church.

    Hughes is the son of Eric and Angela Hughes and Gray is the daughter of Amanda Boone. DeWayne Gibson will be officiating the wedding.

    The best man will be Caleb Canter and the groomsmen Matthew Hornback, Ryan Abell, Wesley Kessinger, Chris Crowe, Andrew Kerr, and Kyle Weiner. The co-maids of honor will be Alii Sallee and Courtney Helton and the bridesmaids Jessalyn Stivers, Olivia Allen, Emily Crowe, Jillian Hughes, and Haley Holt.

    Rex Thompson returned home from Hardin Memorial Hospital last Saturday. The Embree Family Reunion was held during the Fourth of July weekend.

    First Baptist- This Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. will be Bible Study. On Sunday, July 24, Reverend Wilkinson and First Baptist Hodgenville will be the guest at First Baptist Church in Springfield for their annual homecoming. On Sunday, July 31, First Baptist will fellowship with Lane Lincoln.
