  • Stanley Hager 4-H Scholarship winners

    Congratulations to Michaela Rock ($500), far left, Sara Duvall ($250), middle, and Benjamin Locke ($250). They are recipients of the 2015 Stanley Hager 4-H Scholarship. Joy Decker, LaRue County 4-H Council president, presented the students with the scholarships.

  • 4-H Gone Campin'

    Sixty-seven campers and 12 teen and adult leaders spent four days from June 16-19 at Lake Cumberland enjoying activities such as: swimming, boating, archery, rifle, arts and crafts, recreation, high ropes and low ropes.

  • Boys and Girls Ranch marks 40th year

    The Kentucky Sheriffs’ Boys & Girls Ranch Summer camping program is now open for their 40th consecutive year. The camp runs throughout June and July, serving both boys and girls, alternately throughout the camp season.

    The Boys and Girls Ranch is a non-profit organization, serving Kentucky’s youth through a summer camping program designed to build their self-esteem, while teaching them respect for themselves, others and law enforcement professionals.

  • Fundraisers - July 1, 2015

    Fundraisers at Sunrise Manor

    Sunrise Manor is holding several fundraisers to raise money to send to elders on a trip to Walt Disney World. All proceeds go toward the trip. The fundraisers are:

    July 10, Car Wash

    July 16, Loaded Nacho’s or French Fries

    July 17, Community Bingo at the Sunrise Manor Therapy Gym

    July 20-24, Silent Auction in the front lobby of Sunrise Manor

    July 21, Bake Sale located in the Sunrise Manor front lobby.  

  • Family Reunion: July 1, 2015

    The Elmore Family Reunion will be held on July 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the new Greensburg Fire House in Greensburg. The reunion includes descendants of William and Hester Elmore as well as descendants of Peter and Elizabeth Elmore.

    There will be a buffet lunch with chicken provided. Bring a side dish and all other items will be provided. Also, bring your old photos and family stories.

    South Fork Baptist Church

    You are invited to attend our Community 4th of July celebration being held at Sportsman’s Lake Sunday, July5 at 6 p.m. for cook-out. Fireworks will begin at dusk.

    Hodgenville City Hall

    City hall will be closed Friday, July 3 in observance of Independence Day. Only critical services available.

    Also closed Monday July 6 for Administrative Upkeep/Training. Maintenance services available on emergency basis.
