    LaRue County Library book presentation

    Carl Howell will present information on his latest book at the LaRue County Public Library on October 8 at 5:30 p.m. He will be discussing his collections of stories and postcards that are included in his book, Kentucky in the Early 1900s.     The Elizabethtown Area Christian Women’s Connection bi-monthly luncheon was held on Monday, September 14 at the Stone Hearth Restaurant in Elizabethtown. Approximately fifty ladies from Elizabethtown, Radcliff, Hodgenville, Vine Grove, Cecilia, and Leitchfield attended.

    · 2 cups flour plus 2 Tbls flour

    · 1 teaspoon cinnamon

    · ½ cup butter

    Thought for the week: Never regret anything that has happened in your life, it cannot be changed, undone or forgotten. So take it as a lesson learned and move on!

    I can’t believe Lincoln Parkway has been open for 30 years. I don’t even recall it being built that year. I guess with being pregnant, things around you aren’t as important.

    Lincoln Days is this weekend and I hope the weather is good for it. Once again, we will be spending a lot of time at the funeral home for the visitation of Betty Jean Strader, Mike Coffey and Johnny Jackson.

    Bobby Cox is in rehab at home and is doing fairly well. Dolivina Watson was admitted to University of Louisville Hospital last week and she had surgery last Saturday. She along with the family desires our prayers. Alice Lee Thomas remains a patient at Hardin Memorial Hospital. Last Saturday was the Williams/Johnson/Smith/Dixon Family Reunion at First Baptist Hodgenville. Also last Saturday, Reverend Aaron Moss, Sr. was the Master of Ceremony at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Radcliff for the Second Chance Spirituals 6th year anniversary.

    Gospel of Grace Baptist Church invites everyone to attend POP in to REVIVAL which started Sunday, September 27 and ends September 30. Revival will begin at 6:30 p.m. The church is located at 3426 Old Etown Road on Hwy 210, 1.5 miles from Hardin county line on the left.

    Benefit Horse Show

    There will be a Benefit Horse Show for Mike Coffey on Saturday, October 3 at the LaRue County Saddle Club at 210 Goodin-Williams Road, Hodgenville. Pleasure class starts at 2 p.m. and contest classes at 5 p.m. Admission is $2 per person. There will be a cake auction, silent auction, 50/50 Drawing and a rifle raffle.     Class of 1985 Reunion deadline October 1
