  • Men's Cake Bake/Auction and cookout for missions

    First Baptist Church in Hodgenville will be hosting a men’s cake bake and cake auction at 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 29 at the church.

  • These Little Piggies went to market

    For the second year, a passel of plastic purple pigs and their sponsors raised $2,144.06 toward the LaRue County Relay for Life goal of $50,000. Each pig, adopted by a family had its own story, but the fundraising contest by the Living Strong team generated many Facebooks posts, adventures, and followings for the four contest areas- Big Bucks, Hefty Hog, Most Traveled, and Best Dressed Pig.

  • Library has a schedule full of summer activities

    The LaRue County Library will be kicking off the summer with their annual Teddy Bear’s Picnic at Lincoln Farm at 11 a.m. on May 31. Library staff will be conducting summer reading sign ups and the event will also include a magical performance by Dinky Gowen. Those interested are asked to bring a sack lunch and favorite stuffed friend. If you want to participate in summer reading, but are unable to attend the picnic, stop by the library during regular hours until June 7 to sign up.

    Last Friday and Saturday, the Red Coats of Sunrise Manor had their MS Fund Raiser and Walk-A-Thon. It was a huge success. Hats off to the Red Coats of Sunrise Manor for a wonderful project for MS. Happy birthday to Danny and Liz Price who celebrated their anniversary last Tuesday. On Sunday after morning services, Lane Lincoln had their baptism services at First Baptist.

  • Employee of the Month: May

    Hye Powers has been selected as the May Employee of the Month for Nationwide Uniform. We are proud to say Hye has been employed with Nationwide since October of 2001 and is currently under the supervision of Laura Harper in the trouser department. Hye will receive a special award for her dedication and service.

    Takosha Cox has been selected as the April Employee of the Month for Nationwide Uniform. We are proud to say Takosha has been employed with Nationwide since November of 2005 and is currently under the supervision of Janice Perkins in the jacket department. Takosha will receive a special award for her dedication and service.

  • Graduation: Sanders receives degree of Doctor of Medicine

    Samuel David Sanders III graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine on Saturday, May 14, 2016 and received his Degree of Doctor of Medicine.

    Dr. Sanders will be a resident in the field of Psychiatry at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). 

    He is the son of Sam and Dee Anne Sanders and grandson of E.G. Sanders and Tony and Jean Carole Ennis of Hodgenville. 

    Dr. Sanders is pictured receiving his diploma with Toni M. Ganzel, Dean of the University of Louisville School of Medicine.
