    Friday Dance

    There will be a dance from 7 to 10 p.m. on June 24 at LaRue County Senior Center in Hodgenville. Admission is $4 per person. Enjoy a variety of Classic Country and Rock and roll music provided by Prime Time Band. All Ages welcome.     Benefit Dinner and Auction

    A benefit dinner and auction to help with medical expenses of Mary Jane Price will be held Saturday June 25 at Linwood Fire Department. There will be a Gospel Singing and a BBQ dinner. Dinner will be from 5-7 p.m. central time; auction will begin at 7:15 p.m. All donations would be appreciated, pick up for donated auction items is available. If you have an auction item to donate or for more information call 270-531-2862 or 270-531-7756.

    Renaissance Recycling will be closed Wednesday June 22 due to manpower issues. They will reopen on Thursday June 23.

    We extend our deepest sympathy to the family of John Williams of Glasgow who passed away Sunday, June 12. His funeral was last Saturday afternoon at First Baptist in Glasgow with Reverend Jeff Williams officiating. Burial was at the Lou Greene Cemetery. He was the brother to Denise Stewart of Hodgenville.

    Barry Bell was admitted to Hardin Memorial last Friday and released. Kerry Smith was admitted to Hardin Memorial Hospital last Saturday and released.

    Birthday wishes go out to my good friend Mattie Cundiff of Taylorsville on June 22. I really enjoyed the article on Eugene and Edwina Hutcherson and all the quilts they have made.

  • Roosevelt set to visit park July 4

    President Teddy Roosevelt, defender of the great outdoors, will visit central Kentucky on July 4th, 2016, in honor of the Centennial of the National Park Service.  Living history presenter Joe Wiegand will make presentations at Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park, Hodgenville, and the Historic State Theater in Elizabethtown. 

  • SCHOLARSHIP: Thomas receives Edward and Thelma Ford Scholarship

    Iris LaRue, Director of The Lincoln Museum, presented one of the Edward and Thelma Ford Scholarships for 2016 to LCHS Salutatorian Nichole Thomas who will attend the University of Kentucky.
