  • Sign up for the 44th annual Lincoln Days Art Show

    Applications are currently being accepted for the 44th annual Lincoln Days Art Show. The show will take place during the annual Lincoln Days festival on Sunday, September 27 through Sunday, October 4.

    The cost for the art show is $10 per entry or $25 for three entries. The show includes four divisions with cash prizes for first place, second place and honorable mention.

    The submission deadline is Tuesday, September 22.

    LCHS Class of 2000 15 year Reunion

    The LaRue County High School Class of 2000 will be having their 15 year class reunion, at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, August 29.   • Justice and Sayre speak to chamber of commerce

    The monthly luncheon of the LaRue County Chamber of Commerce was held August 19, and featured Bill Justice, Superintendent of the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Park, and Jim Sayre, a 33 year veteran Lincoln look-a-like. The theme was “Lunch with Lincoln” and the focus was on Volunteerism. The next luncheon will be noon, September 16 in the Community Room in downtown, and the public is invited to attend.   • Overdose awareness event coming to Hodgenville

    An event for international overdose awareness will be held at 6 p.m. on August 31 in Hodgenville at Creekfront Park at 6 p.m.

    According to event coordinator Vicki Dawley, every year we lose thousands of people from drug overdose. She said some survive but suffer a permanent injury, with devastating impact to their families and friends.

    “Larue County is not immune. You may have seen it, it has happened to people around you,” Dawley said. “Tomorrow, it could happen to someone you love. This is not an invisible issue.”
