    Mother of the Year Award

    The Mother of the Year Award is sponsored by the LaRue County Extension Homemakers and will be announced at the LaRue County Fairgrounds during the AGstravaganza event on Friday, July 22 at 7 p.m. Nomination forms are available at the LaRue County Extension Office (270-358-3401) or can be found on the Extension Office website on the Family and Consumer Sciences page at http://larue.ca.uky.edu/FamilyConsumerSciences.  Nominations are due to the Extension Office by Friday, July 1.

    Thought for the week: NOTHING IS PERMANENT! Don’t stress yourself too much because no matter how bad the situation......it will change.

    Early deadline, which everyone knows I hate. I hope everyone had a safe 4th of July. Congratulations to Stephanie White and John Hoffman on birth of John Richard on June 28. 

    Everybody is asking why I have started this walking program. Are you training for a marathon? Double not. New love in your life? Not. It’s for me to be healthy.

    First Baptist- This Saturday at noon will be the missionary meeting. This Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. will be Bible Study. This Thursday at 6 p.m. will be choir rehearsal.

    Lane Lincoln will be having their Pastor’s Appreciation Day for their Pastor, Reverend Aaron Moss, Sr. this Sunday morning during morning services. The guest will be Reverend Oliver Walker and his congregation of Phillips Chapel CME Church of Indianapolis. First Baptist is invited. The time for the event is 11 a.m. Dinner will be served after morning services.

  • Hodgenville Water Works recognized

    Hodgenville Water Works was one of 34 surface water treatment plants in the state that was recently recognized by the Kentucky Energy and Education Cabinet for their superior performance for meeting the goals of Kentucky’s Area-Wide Optimization Program.

    The purpose of AWOP is to encourage water treatment plants and distributors of drinking water to surpass state and federal goals and standards.  Kentucky is one of 19 states that participate in AWOP initiatives.
