The Hardin & LaRue Diabetes Coalition will meet 6 p.m. March 6 at the Lincoln Trail District Health Department, 108 New Glendale Road, Elizabethtown. It is open to anyone with interest in early diagnosis, reduction of complications, prevention and elimination of diabetes.

The Elizabethtown Community and Technical College Fine Arts Series will present a performance by the Jamey Aebersold Quartet: Jamey Aebersold, sax, Steve Crews, piano, Tyrone Wheeler, bass, and Jonathan Higgins, drums.
The program will be in the Morrison Gallery of the College's James Owen Administration Building 3 p.m. Sunday, March 4. The Fine Arts Committee is sponsoring the performance, and there will be no admission charge. The public is invited.
Visitors to Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park spent over $6 million in local gateway communities in 2010 according to a study released by the National Park Service. The study estimates that this spending resulted in 97 jobs.
Kentucky Saves Week is Feb. 19-26. As a way to encourage Kentuckians to improve their personal savings rates and take control of their financial situation, the UK Cooperative Extension Service has the Kentucky Saves website. Kentucky Saves promotes a week in February to focus on helping people learn how to save money and build personal wealth.
