Sunrise Manor Red Hat Society will have an auction on September 2 at 7 pm at Sunrise Manor. Proceeds from this auction will go to Tracey Bowen Williams, a cancer patient who is the daughter of a Sunrise Manor employee. The Red Hat Society makes donations each year to benefit groups and/or individuals involved with diabetes, cancer, alzheimers, multiple sclerosis and heart disease.
A free class on making healthy beverage choices will be held at the LaRue County Extension Office on Thursday, August 25 at 10:30 a.m. Many drink choices are very high in calories and very low in nutrients. This past Sunday was Usher Day at First Baptist Elizabethtown. The guest speaker was Dr. Michael Rice, Pastor of First Baptist Glasgow and Second Vice Moderator of the General Association of Kentucky Baptists. Also, the First Baptist Hodgenville Ushers were special guest. Victor Cox was involved in an accident last Saturday. We are very thankful he wasn’t seriously injured.
First Baptist- This Wednesday at noon will be Bible Study. This Thursday at 6 p.m. will be choir rehearsal.
The monthly luncheon of the Chamber of Commerce resumes at noon on Wednesday, August 17 with guest speaker Dennis Wells, Director of Emergency Management speaking on the topic of community safety. The luncheon will be held at the LaRue County Extension Office. Lunch is $10 at the door for those that did not make reservations in advance.
