    The 4-H Cooking Club will meet 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 27 at the LaRue County Extension office.

    4-H Arts & Crafts Explorers Club

    The Arts & Crafts Explorers 4-H Club met in December and the members made rag dolls using yarn.

  • Sunrise Manor Volunteers meet Oct. 15

    The Sunrise Volunteers’ semi annual meeting was Oct. 15.

    President Rita Smith welcomed everyone and led the prayer. A meal was provided by Sunrise Manor.

    The minutes of the April 23 meeting were read by secretary, Emogene Gardner, and approved by the group.

    Peggy Edwards gave the treasurer’s report.

    Julia Kessinger said the Volunteers were present at nine funerals (106 in attendance). No report was given on membership.

  • Local Masons honored at Louisville meeting

    Members of B.R. Young Lodge #132 were honored at last week’s Grand Lodge meeting at the Galt House in Louisville.
    The lodge was presented with the Grand Master’s Lodge of Excellence Award. Only 22 of 394 lodges successfully completed the requirements for this prestigious award.
    Accepting the award for all members was this year’s Worshipful Master, Bill Gehr.
