  • South Fork Homemakers meet

    The South Fork Area Homemakers met Nov. 20 at the LaRue County Extension Office.

    Hostesses were Delores Bale, Amanda Gatewood and Julia Devore.

    Also present were Virginia Allen, Janice Bowen, Exie Elliott, Ann E. Flanders, Emogene Gardner, Clovis Johnson, Norma Jean McDonald, Billie Shahayda, Della Thomas, Sue Crutcher and Wanda West.

     The South Fork Area Homemakers met Oct. 16 at the LaRue County Extension Office.

    Hostesses for the meeting were Martha Owen and Exie Elliott. Also present were Delores Bale, Janice Bowen, Julie Devore, Amanda Gatewood, Clovis Johnson, Norma Jean McDonald, Mary Lou Owen, Billie Shahayda, Della Thomas, Patsy Thomas, Sue Crutcher and Wanda West.

    The Club discussed the LaRue County Extension Banquet which they will cater on Jan. 28, 2013.

  • LaRue honored for 53 years of service to Rotary

     The Hodgenville Rotary Club honored one of their longest tenured members, James D. “Jim” LaRue Jr., at the Lincoln Museum Community Room on Sept. 17. 

  • Christian Women's Club meets

     The Elizabethtown Area Christian Women’s Connection’s bi-monthly luncheon was Sept. 10 at Stone Hearth Restaurant. About 50 ladies from Elizabethtown, Radcliff, Hodgenville, Vine Grove, Cecilia and Leitchfield attended. 

    The guest speaker was Carol Morris, a national Stonecroft Ministries speaker from Loudon, Tenn.

    She spoke on “Daring to Find Victory” which was her life struggle to overcome fear and to trust God with the future. 

    Breanna Decker from Gilead Baptist Church provided special music. 

  • Rep. Lee speaks at NARFE meeting

    The National Active and Retired Federal Employees met July 2.

    Program Chair Mary Tom Haun introduced the guest speaker, 23rd District Representative Jimmy Lee, who provided an update and plans on Kentucky legislative issues. He spoke on the June 28 decision by the Federal Supreme Court on Obama’s “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act” and explained the impact on Kentuckians.
