 Ancestral Trails Historical Society met in March at the Hardin County Public Library. Above, Steve Rafferty, president of ATHS, gave a Power Point presentation about the Society. Organized in 1975, the group has more than 425 members in 34 states and four foreign countries. It has published more than 60 books and has a volunteer-staffed library in the Hardin County History Museum. Elvin Smith Jr. will present the April 5 program, “The Battle of Vinegar Hill.”

 The executive board of Sunrise Manor Volunteers met Feb. 5.

The meeting was called to order by President Rita Smith. Also present were Ruth Ann Brown, LaDean Self, Peggy Edwards, Tickle Ragland, Sally Rineker and Emogene Gardner.

Minutes were approved and treasury report was given by Edwards. Brown reported four funerals with 53 volunteers in attendance.

The semi-annual meeting will be 6:30 p.m. April 23. The meal will be provided by Sunrise Manor.
