The Meade County 12-year-old All-Stars scored four runs in the third inning and held on to beat LaRue County, 6-4 on Tuesday in the Cal Ripken District 7 Tournament at University Drive Park in Elizabethtown.
Trailing 5-1 in the bottom of the fifth, LaRue County cut its deficit to 5-4 as Wyatt Pearman had a two-run double and Bryson Arnette hit a two-run homer.
But Meade County tacked on an insurance run in the sixth.
Meade County advances to face Elizabethtown, which moved on with an 8-3 win over Breckinridge County, in the winner’s bracket final at 6 tonight.
LaRue County takes on Breckinridge County at 8. The winner of that game moves on to face the loser of the winner’s bracket final at 6 p.m. Thursday, with the championship game set for 8 that night.
If needed, a second championship game is at 8 Friday night.
CAL RIPKEN 7S. LaRue County beat Meade County, 9-8 and EABC rolled past Grayson County, 19-0 at Hodgenville City Park.
LaRue County and EABC meet in the winner’s bracket final at 6 p.m. today, while Meade County takes on Grayson County in the loser’s bracket at 8.
The winner of that game will face the loser of the LaRue-EABC game at 6 p.m. Thursday, with the championship set for 8 that night.
If needed, a second championship game is set for 8 Friday night.
CAL RIPKEN 8S. EABC Blue beat LaRue County, 14-2 and Meade County beat EABC Red, 14-10 at University Drive Park.
EABC Blue and Meade County meet in the winner’s bracket final at 6 tonight, while EABC Red and LaRue County meet in the loser’s bracket at 8.
The winner of that game meets the loser of the winner’s bracket game at 6 p.m. Thursday, with the championship set for 8 that night.
If needed, a second championship is set for 8 Friday night.
CAL RIPKEN 9S. EABC held off LaRue County, 10-6 at University Drive Park in a best-of-three series.
Game 2 is at 6 tonight. If necessary, Game 3 immediately follows at 8.
CAL RIPKEN 10S. Meade County locked up the No. 1 seed in the three-team tournament at University Drive Park with a 10-5 win over EABC.
On Monday, Meade County beat LaRue County, 4-0.
EABC and LaRue County meet at 7 tonight to determine the second and third seeds.
