Widening of Interstate 65 to three lanes in each direction continues northward with work beginning this week on the next section. Scotty’s Contracting has a $63.6 million dollar contract for the project, which was awarded in late November.
As the next step of a goal to expand the interstate from four to six lanes all the way to Elizabethtown, this project pushes north about seven miles (mile point 58 – mile point 65) from the endpoint of a project that is currently underway through the Horse Cave Interchange.
