Brian Wood of Hodgenville recently accepted a position with the Kentucky State Police. Wood joined the ranks as a Kentucky State Police officer assigned to Region 2 of the Commercial Vehicle Enforcment Division. Region 2 is based in Louisville and covers 27 counties.
Wood is in week 14 of 18 of basic training at the Department of Criminal Justice Training in Richmond. Upon completion, Wood will be paired with a field-training officer for 10 weeks. During these 10 weeks, Wood will face numerous tasks and evaluations to supplement academy training and to go beyond that which is possible in a classroom setting.
Wood has already successfully completed training in the highly specialized areas of federal truck regulations and hazardous materials training at the Kentucky State Police academy in Frankfort.
Wood is son of Jimmy and Betty Wood of Hodgenville.
