The National Weather Service's winter weather advisory issued Friday included LaRue County on the storm front's western edge. After overnight conditions delivered light rain only, the alert area was reduced and LaRue now remains outside the advisory.
Some snow is still possible today and hazardous road conditions could develop.
The rain mixed with snow is expected to change to all snow around 7 tpnight, according to the latest forecast. The Weather Service now expects less than a half inch in the Hodgenville area.
Sunday's forecast also includes a 30 percent chance snow along with a high temperature of 36.
The advisory area remains adjacent to LaRue County with Taylor and Green both expecting more severe conditions. That advisory area also includes Somerset, Lexington, Frankfort and northern Kentucky.The mountains of eastern Kentucky are under a winter storm warning with accumulations of 3 inches or more expected. The long-range forecast also shows a chance of snow on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
