The Lincoln Trail District Health Department issued a public health advisory Oct. 22 after children in three Elizabethtown-area schools and two daycare facilities were diagnosed with pertussis, commonly known as whooping cough. Letters were sent to parents of children who may have been exposed to the bacteria.
No cases have been reported in LaRue County, according to school oficials.
