A storm front passing through LaRue County this morning is dropping heavy rain and has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a flash flood warning.
LaRue, Nelson,Taylor and Hart counties are under the alert.
Also, a tornado warning has been issued for Hardin County and radar indicates that Sonora and Hodgenville are in the path of the most severe conditions.
The county also is under a tornado watch this morning as the storm's punch will last for hours.
The storm is carrying winds of 30 mph with gusts in excess of 50 mph.
Residents are encouraged to monitor changing weather conditions and take appropriate precautions. People in low-lying areas should be particularly cautious about rising creeks, streams and standing water. The storm is dropping rain in excess of 1 inch per hour.
