Customers of LaRue County Water District No. 1 will see an increase in water bills. The minimum bill for the first 1,000 gallons increased from $14.93 to $15.02 – or 9 cents.
The monthly bill for a residential customer using an average of 5,000 gallons of water per month will increase from $41.41 to $41.86. This is an increase of 45 cents or 1.1 percent.
The increase occurred due to a rate increase passed on by the City of Bardstown, a supplier of the water district.
The Public Service Commission can order different rates to be charged.
