The Office of Financial Aid at Campbellsville University in conjunction with the Taylor County Public Library is offering a night to “File Your FAFSA.”
Staff from the Office of Financial Aid will provide assistance and support in filing the FAFSA 6-8 p.m. Jan. 9 at the Taylor County Public Library, 1316 E. Broadway, Campbellsville. The invitation is open to high school seniors, parents and anyone planning to attend college in the fall of 2014.
“The only way students can be considered for federal and state aid is to file a FAFSA. The FAFSA is the first step a student can take in preparing a financial plan to fund their higher education,” said Steve Pike, assistant director of financial aid at Campbellsville University.
The filing period for the FAFSA opened on Jan. 1. State grant funds for Kentucky residents, facilitated through Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority, are expected to run out in mid-to-late January 2014, according to Pike.
“With the timing and deadlines running extremely short this year we are trying to get the word out and offer help to anyone interested in attending college this coming fall. For anyone needing help in filing, this night would be a good opportunity to get started,” said Pike.
