A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Campbellsville Road and Ky. 470 Monday afternoon sent two local women to the hospital.

According to LaRue County Deputy Marcus Jackson, a 1997 Jeep Cherokee driven by Sherie Tinnell, 37, of Buffalo was eastbound on Campbellsville Road (Ky. 210) about 4 p.m. when it was struck by a 2003 Kia Sedona driven by Gary Bailey, 62, of Hodgenville.

Bailey’s vehicle was on Ky. 470 and made a turn into the westbound lane of Campbellsville Road. It struck the front and right side of Tinnell’s Jeep.

Tinnell, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was injured as was Bailey’s passenger – his wife Anna Bailey, 60. The airbags in the Jeep deployed.

Both Baileys were wearing seatbelts, Jackson said. However, the airbags in the Sedona did not deploy due to the nature of the collision.

The women were transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital by LaRue County EMS. Anna Bailey suffered a broken wrist, Jackson said.
