About 2 a.m. Sunday, two inmates from the Hardin County Detention Center were reported as absent during a head count by jail deputies. They escaped by walking out while jail deputies were making their rounds. It appeared that the two inmates were able to dig a hole in the corner of the fence and crawl under it.
The inmates are Lonnie Ray Coy, 43, of Shepherdsville; and Joshua Nunn, 19, of Edmonton.
Coy is a white male, about 6-feet-tall and weighing 195 pounds. He was last seen wearing camo pants, a black T-shirt and white "long john" top. He was serving time for parole violations and flagrant non support with pending charges in other counties.
Nunn is a white male, with shaved head and brown eyes. He weighs 170 pounds and is 5-feet 11-inches. He was serving time for manufacturing methamphetamine with possession of a handgun.
It appears that both suspects walked out the front door of the facility at 11:17 p.m. The Kentucky State Police is spearheading the investigation. Tpr. Josh Cummings is the investigating officer.
