TRACK AND FIELD: Durbin wins 1,600-meter

 Sophomore Kristina Durbin won the girls’ 1,600-meter run March 15 at the LaRue County All-Comers Meet. Durbin’s time, 6:00.46, was tops in a field of 14.

Freshman Nichole Thomas had a good day, placing fourth out of 22 in the 800-meters with a time of 2:48.58; and third in the triple jump with a distance of 28-03.00.

Junior Misha Jakes tied for second in the high jump with a distance of 4-04.00.

Senior Sheridan Myers was fourth in discus with a distance of 72-10.

Sophomore Destinee Young took seventh in the 200-meters with a time of 30.13.

Sophomore Amanda Brewer was fifth in the 300-meters with a time of 57.71.

The girls 4X100 relay team of Destinee Young, Jakes, Shaila Winston and Delaina White took fifth with a time of 57.81.

Freshman Randy Young won the boys’ long jump with a distance of 19-04.00 in a field of 21 competitors.

Sophomore Adam Sandidge took third in the 800-meters (2:10.91) and 1,600-meters (4:45.90).

Senior Jackson Venegas took third in the discus with a distance of 123-06 and eighth in shotput with a distance of 37-09.00. Teammate Damarcus McCray, a freshman, placed fourth in discus with a distance of 101-02 and 11th in shotput with a distance of 35-07.00.

Central Hardin, Elizabethtown, Grayson County, Meade County, Nelson County, Taylor County and Warren East competed at the meet.
