Tootie Burba, 85, of Hodgenville, passed away Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
She was a member of Ovesen Heights Baptist Church in Hodgenville, retired from General Electric in Louisville and LaRue County Board of Education.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by two children, Connie and Timmy; her parents, Robert and Alice Benningfield Walters; a grandson, Jeremy Greenup; and a brother, Arthur Lee Walters.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, William C. “Charlie” Burba; a daughter, Charlene (Larry) Gaddie of Hodgenville; five sons, Robert T. (Diane) Burba of Hodgenville, Phillip D. (Carol) Burba, Victor W. (Liz) Burba, and John R. (Denise) Burba, all of Crestwood, and William Mark (Julie) Burba of Magnolia; a sister, Lillian Kirkpatrick of Louisville; two brothers, Jim (Mittie) Walters and W.H. Walters, both of Louisville; 20 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
The funeral is at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with the Rev. Gerald Murphy and the Rev. Bobby Boster officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Moriah Cemetery in Mount Sherman.
Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and continues at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
