A LaRue County teen is recovering from a farming accident that occurred Tuesday, Oct. 4.
Dereck Rock, 15, was working in tobacco on Airline Road with his grandfather Jimmy Rock about 1 p.m.
Jimmy Rock was driving a tractor, pulling a wagon of tobacco. Dereck was riding on the wagon when his shoestring became tangled in the power take-off, according to his grandmother, Bonita Rock.
Dereck's leg was mangled before Jimmy could get “everything shut down.”
