Sweet Repeats Children’s Consignment Store just completed its first month of business in Hodgenville.
Owned by Sherry Polly, Sweet Repeats opened on April 24. Polly said that she heard that the building space on Lincoln Boulevard was becoming available because the consignment store that previously occupied it was closing and she jumped at the opportunity.
“To be honest, I had a lot of kids’ clothing that I need to get rid of. I heard that the consignment store that was here before was closing and I thought that this would be a good business opportunity. I think that Hodgenville needs something like this.”
For the past month, Sweet Repeats has been building up its inventory and cliental. Thus far, Polly said that the store has been “doing really well.” She also said that they offer a wide range of clothing and other items for kids and mothers.
“We have used and new mostly name brand clothes, sizes preemie to junior…we have maternity and nursing clothes, baby accessories and designer baby bags. We also offer monogramming.”
Sweet Repeats offers unique gifts and boutique items made especially for the customer. These items include flip-flops with ribbon and embroidered initials, monogrammed hooded towels and hair bows to match outfits.
The new business has a page on Facebook.com. Here, customers can view pictures of various items for sale and custom-made gifts.
Polly offers different options for customers who are interested in selling used clothing to Sweet Repeats. In one option, she buys the clothing outright and customers receive full payment upon bringing in the clothing. If customers opt not to do this, Polly will consign the clothing and send a check to the customer each month.
Thus far, Polly said that the community’s reaction to her consignment shop has been positive and that customers have been appreciative.
“I already have repeat customers. Everyone says I have great prices and good selection.”
Sweet Repeats is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. For more information, call 270-401-5435.
