The LaRue County School Board voted Monday to suspend Superintendent Sam Sanders for 30 days without pay.
The board met in closed session for two hours to discuss Sanders' status.
Sanders was charged with DUI in March. Police said he was driving a vehicle owned by the school district at the time of his arrest.
He has pleaded not guilty and his case is progressing through the court system.
The board will also be looking at Sanders' contract which expires in July.
