Last Spring, State Auditor Adam Edelen recommended to the Kentucky Department of Education that it require all school districts to submit the superintendent contract for posting on a publicly-accessible website. The Department of Education accepted that recommendation and all school districts have complied.
A copy of the contracts for school superintendents is available at http://education.ky.gov/districts/FinRept/Pages/Superintendent-Compensat....
Scroll toward the bottom to “Title: Superintendent Contracts (173),” then “Description” for the link to the database of individual contracts. Most of them have not only the compensation aspect but working days and benefits spelled out.
There is also a copy of the State Superintendent's contract as well as a joint news release from the State Auditor and the State School Superintendent calling for school systems to be more transparent with making the contracts, benefit information and evaluations available.
