The semi-annual meeting of Sunrise Volunteers was held April 24 in Sunrise Manor's second floor chapel.

Sunrise Manor provided a very pleasant meal of Alfredo lasagna, cheese cake, salad and drinks.

LaDean Self introduced Steve Skaggs, a singer-musician from the Hodgenville area, as the evening's entertainment.

Jim Kessler, secretary, read minutes of the Oct. 18, 2011, semi-annual meeting which were approved as read.

Wanda West, treasurer, reported a balance of $3,518.55 as of April 23. The report was accepted as presented.

Tickle Ragland, historian, reported that the scrapbook was updated and available for viewing. Her report was accepted as presented.

Committee reports:

Telephone – Ruth Ann Brown reported volunteers attended 10 funerals with 123 volunteers in total attendance for the current year.

Membership – Ann Easton reported Sunrise Volunteers have 57 active members and 33 sustaining members.

Nominating Committee – Julie Kessinger was named secretary; Peggy Edwards, treasurer.

Obadiah Okeson proposed that the monies raised by the talent show be used to buy a digital projector he had researched and found on the Internet for $750 and a projection screen for $127. He asked if, at their next meeting, the board would consider buying it and that it be made the sole property of Sunrise Volunteers. With no more business to discuss, Smith adjourned the meeting.
