Jail's chief administrative officer describes overhaul

By Morgan Rose

The LaRue County Detention Center is in the midst of an overhaul, according to Joey Stanton, the jail’s chief administrative officer.

“I’m trying to tear everything down and get back to the fundamentals,” Stanton said Monday.

Several training sessions have been held for employees and supervisors of work-release inmates.

Another session will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at the courthouse. During this training, state officials will instruct those interested on handling inmates during the work release program, a program that allows inmates to perform work-related tasks in the community while under supervision.

The meeting is open to anyone interested in restrictions placed on inmates working in the community.
