The state legislature has tweaked the law periodically in the years since the Kentucky Education Reform Act of 1990 drastically changed the state’s public education system.
Senate Bill 1, enacted in 2010, dropped state accountability tests for arts and humanities and practical living/career studies as well as writing portfolios, and replaced them with program reviews.
