Stars and Strikes Bowl-a-thon Kickoff Luncheon
The USA Cares Stars and Strikes Bowl-a-thon luncheon, sponsored by Furniture Liquidators, is Jan. 10 at the Pritchard Community Center, 404 S. Mulberry St., Elizabethtown. USA Cares spokesman Bryan Anderson, an Emmy Award winning actor, advocate, Iraq War veteran and Purple Heart recipient will speak. RSVP by logging on to usacares.org.
The Bowl-a-thon will be Feb. 22 through March 10 at varying times at Dix-E-Town Lanes, 4547 N. Dixie Hwy., Elizabethtown. Cost is $50 per bowler and includes two games of bowling, pizza and sweatshirt. To bowl, organize a team of four-to-five bowlers.
USA Cares assists post-9/11 service members, veterans and their families with financial and advocacy support. Proceeds from the Bowl-a-thon benefit soldiers from Kentucky in need of assistance for basic needs, post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury treatment. Sign up at usacares.org.
Bowl for Kids’ Sake
The kick-off luncheon for Bowl for Kids’ Sake is 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Jan. 24 at American Legion Hall, Ring Road, Elizabethtown. The event is a fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana and will be March 15-17 and March 22-23 at Dix-E-Town Lanes. Gridiron Alumni
Gridiron Alumni football is planning several full contact alumni games. Teams from LaRue County, Central Hardin and Elizabethtown are forming now. The games are set for early spring.
