 Girls’ youth softball sign-ups

LaRue County girls’ youth softball will hold sign-ups 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Feb. 23; and 1-3 p.m. Feb. 24, at LaRue County Park and Recreation. No late sign-ups after tryouts are held. For more information, call 270-234-4887.

Cheer championships

The inaugural KHSAA Competitive Cheer Championships will be Feb. 23 at WKU’s Diddle Arena. Updated event information is available at the KHSAA website at khsaa.org.

Softball coaches and board members meeting

There will be a mandatory meeting for all LaRue County youth softball coaches and board members at 6 p.m. Feb. 26 at LaRue County Park and Recreation. For more information, call Hanya Williamson at 270-234-4887.

Kentucky Heat 8U Travel Baseball

The Kentucky Heat 8U travel baseball team is recruiting players. The Heat is a competitive travel baseball league based out of Elizabethtown. For information about the team or open tryouts, contact Chris Young at cyoung58@windstream.net.

Stars and Strikes Bowl-a-thon Kickoff Luncheon

The USA Cares Stars and Strikes Bowl-a-thon is Feb. 22 through March 10 at varying times at Dix-E-Town Lanes, 4547 N. Dixie Hwy., Elizabethtown. Cost is $50 per bowler and includes two games of bowling, pizza and sweatshirt. To bowl, organize a team of four-to-five bowlers.

USA Cares assists post-9/11 service members, veterans and their families with financial and advocacy support. Proceeds from the Bowl-a-thon benefit soldiers from Kentucky in need of assistance for basic needs, post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury treatment. Sign up at www.usacares.org.

LaRue County Park and Recreation Board
