Swimming pool opening delayed
The LaRue County Park and Recreation swimming pool did not open Saturday as scheduled as the final health inspection had not been made. The City hopes to have it open later this week. Call 358-3832 for more information.

Big Canoe Race
Elizabethtown Founders Day Big Canoe Race is July 4 at Freeman Lake. Load-in is at 1 p.m.; first heat is at 2 p.m. Canoes available for two-person teams. Entry fee is $25 per person. Life jackets required. All proceeds benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana. Call 270-351-2220 for more information.

LCHS and LCMS student-athletes can get physicals beginning at 4:30 p.m. July 9 at LCHS. Cost is $15. A parent must be present. For more information, call David Dawson at 358-2210.

Wrestlers: Meet Coach Burrell
There will be a wrestling “meet and greet” for middle and high school wrestlers and parents to meet newly hired Coach Eric Burrell at 7 p.m. July 10 in the LCHS library.

Softball Tournament

Middle school football practice
Middle School football practice begins 5-7 p.m. July 16. Physical and parent permission form must be turned in at this time. All players are expected to bring cleats for practice. Co-ed tournament fundraiser
LaRue County Softball is hosting a co-ed tournament fundraiser July 19-20 at LaRue County Park and Recreation. Must be 18 yrs and older to play; teams consist of five men, five women. Impact test
LaRue County Middle and High School athletes are required to take the IMPACT (concussion) test – a 30-minute online test – July 15-18 (3-5 p.m.) at LCMS.

Summersville Day Run/Walk
The Summersville Fun Days run/walk is July 20. Entry is $20 if paid by July 17; proceeds benefit Green County High School track and cross country teams. Participants receive a T-shirt and photo. Girls’ basketball camp in July
Basketball camp will be July 22-24 at LaRue County High School for girls in kindergarten to 8th grade K-8th (next school year). The K-4 group will meet 10-11:45 a.m.; the 5-8 p.m. group will meet noon to 2 p.m. Cost is $40 per camper and $60 for two in same family. Youth soccer registration
LaRue County Youth Soccer Association is accepting registration for the fall season. You can print forms from the LCYSA Facebook page (found under LaRue County Youth Soccer Association) or e-mail lcysa.questions@gmail .com to request forms. A $5 discount for early registration ends July 31. Mailed forms must be postmarked by July 29. Regular registration is Aug. 1-8  (postmark by Aug. 6).  Late registration is Aug. 9-16. requires a $10 late fee (postmark by Aug. 14). No registrations will be accepted after Aug. 16.
