All-season passes available
All-season student passes for LaRue County High School volleyball, soccer, football, basketball, wrestling, baseball, track and softball is $50. Admission for individual games is $5 per student. Football season pass is $10; volleyball student pass is $15.
Family pass for all sports is $150 for family members (parents and school age children only).

Kicking Cancer fundraiser, kickball tournament
The LaRue County Parks and Recreation and the Relay For Life of LaRue County are hosting a Kicking Cancer Kickball Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 20. Proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society and parks renovation fund. Entry fee is $50 per team of 10 players. Deadline to enter is noon on Aug. 17. Youth division for 6th-12th grade; adult co-ed division for age 18 and up, must have at least three female players per team. Team trophy for top two teams in each division. Volley for the Cure
The Lady Hawks volleyball team will host the fourth annual Volley for the Cure Aug. 22. The game against North Hardin begins at 5:30 p.m. Proceeds from admission and concessions will be donated to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. The Foundation is the global leader of the breast cancer awareness and survivor movement.
Heartland Tennis Shootout
The Heartland Tennis Shootout is Aug. 27-28. Deadline to enter singles competition is Aug. 22. Competitors must live in LaRue, Hardin, Grayson, Breckinridge, Meade, Nelson, Washington or Marion Counties. Divisions for ages 5 and older. LCHS boys basketball golf scramble
The LaRue County High School boys basketball team will hold its annual golf scramble 9 a.m. Aug. 20 at the LaRue County Country Club. The cost is $50 per person which includes golf cart if needed, free drinks on course and lunch. Bring your own team or sign up and be placed on a team. More than $1,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to top three teams and ninth place. Numerous prizes for closest to pins, longest drives and door prizes. Sonora fun run
A 5K run and 3K fun walk will be held beginning at 8 a.m. Aug. 27 during the Sonora Days Festival. Events begin at First Baptist Church in Sonora. For more information, contact Martha at 369-6230.
The Lincoln Area Longbeards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation will hold its annual Jakes Day event 1-5 p.m. Aug. 28 at 1196 Knob Schoolhouse Road, Sonora. Registration is 12:30 p.m. The event is for Jakes (ages 4-12) and Extreme Jakes (ages 13-16). There will be fishing, BB gun shoots, an archery shoot, a .22 rifle shoot and a Farm Safety & Fishing for Kids class.
