Project Graduation Golf Scramble
Project Graduation will hold a fundraiser golf scramble April 23 at LaRue County Country Club. Cost is $50 a player, bring your own team. Payout for first, fifth and ninth place; numerous prizes. Shotgun start at 9 a.m. Entry forms can be picked up at the golf course, LCHS or any Project Grad parent. Pre-registration requested. For more information, contact Kellie Shirley at 358-5405.
Bluegrass Speedway opener postponed
Bluegrass Speedway track canceled the season opener April 16 due to persistent rain and forecast of additional showers. The season opener is Saturday, April 23 and will feature a full program of racing competition at the dirt track. Bluegrass Speedway is located at 2221 New Haven Road, just outside Bardstown.
American Red Cross Golf Scramble
The American Red Cross Golf Scramble is 9 a.m. April 29 at the Elizabethtown Country Club. Bring your own team or be assigned a team. Cost is $50 per person. This includes a continental breakfast, lunch, 18 holes of golf, golf cart, goody bag, prizes and prize money. There is a $10,000 hole-in-one, sponsored by American Mining.
If unable to play, a person can also Sponsor a Soldier. For a $50 donation ($65.00 if you want to include the extra shot package for soldier, which gives them a mulligan, skirt and throw to use) a soldier from Fort Knox is treated to a day of golf and fun.
A person or business can sponsor a hole for $100. This would entitle them to have a sign placed on a hole of the course with their name on it.

LaRue County Chamber of Commerce Golf Scramble
LaRue County Chamber of Commerce will hold its 17th annual fundraiser golf scramble 9 a.m. April 30 at LaRue County Country Club. Cost is $60 a player or $240 per team and includes lunch, hole prizes, door prizes, cash prizes and a jackpot. For more information, call 358-3411.
Big Maroon Club Golf Classic
Campbellsville University’s Big Maroon Club Golf Scramble has been rescheduled for May 9 at the Campbellsville Country Club. Registration and lunch will begin at noon, followed by a shotgun start at 12:45 p.m. Due to the change, registration for the event has been extended to May 5. Family Fitness Club
The Family Fitness Club meets 6-7 p.m. Tuesdays at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School and Thursdays at Hodgenville Elementary School.

Steve Hamilton film
The Kentucky Historical Society will screen “Steve Hamilton: The Father, The Pitcher, The Hero” at 6:30 p.m. April 21 at the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History in downtown Frankfort. The screening is free with admission to the KHS history campus.
The film recounts the life and career of the Columbia, Ky. native, a Major League Baseball player and Morehead State University graduate. Hamilton pitched for the New York Yankees in the 1963 and 1964 World Series, and was best known for developing a pitch called the Folly Floater. Students from Morehead State who produced and directed the film will be on hand for a post-screening question-and-answer session.
Entrance to all KHS Film Series events is free with admission to the KHS history campus. Free soda and popcorn are provided.
