Youth Softball to meet, establish board
LaRue County Youth Softball will meet 6 p.m. Thursday in the Parks and Recreation Community Center. This is the first meeting to establish our board to compliment our league. Anyone interested in helping with fall ball needs to attend. For more information, contact Regina Devers at 234-6217.
Youth soccer needs coaches, meeting planned
The LaRue County Soccer Association needs coaches for U4, U6, U8 and U10. Contact Heather Cook at 358-5720 if you are interested in volunteering. There will be a coaches meeting 6:30 p.m. Aug. 13 at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School.
Football scrimmage, admission is soap or towels
The LaRue County Hawks will scrimmage Nelson County 7 p.m. Aug. 13 at LCHS. Admission is laundry detergent, towels or soap.
Golf scramble to benefit basketball team
The LaRue County High School Boys Basketball Boosters will hold its sixth annual golf scramble beginning 9 a.m. Aug. 14 at the LaRue County Country Club. Cost is $50 per golfer which includes golf, cart, free drinks on course and lunch. Bring your own team or sign up and be placed on a team. More than $1,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to top three teams and ninth place. Prizes for closest-to pins, longest drives and door prizes. Youth football registration
LaRue County Youth Football will hold registration for tackle (grades 3-6) and flag (grades K-2) football 10 a.m.-noon Aug. 14 and 6-8 p.m. Aug. 19 in the LCHS cafeteria. The interested player needs to attend registration for fitting. The registration fee is $55 for tackle and $30 for flag. For more information, contact Scott Clemons at 358-4199.
Kentucky Motorsports Hall of Fame induction
Kentucky Motorsports Hall of Fame 2010 Induction Ceremony is noon-5 p.m. Aug. 15 at Swope Cars of Yesteryear Musuem, 1110 N. Dixie Ave., Elizabethtown. Upton Days 5K Run
Upton Days will hold a 5K run 8 a.m. Sept. 18 during the annual festival. Line-up is at Upton Baptist Church, College Street. Entry fee is $10 per person with half the fee being donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. All participants receive a T-shirt. The event is sponsored by the Upton Civic Club. Youth soccer fundraisers ongoing
The LaRue County Youth Soccer Association is fundraising for new goals and concession area at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School. Boosters are selling toboggans, nylon bags, sports bottles and T-shirts with logos and personalization available. Prices range from $10 to $20. Deadline to register is Sept. 13. Season passes available
Season passes are available from LaRue County High School Athletic Director David Dawson or from the ticket-taker at games. All sports student seasons passes - $50; adults - $100; family pass - $150.
Football season student pass - $10; adults - $20
Volleyball season student pass - $15; adults - $30
Passes are good for all LCHS home events. Tournament events are not included.
Individual tickets are $5 for adults and students.
