A special prosecutor has been selected to handle charges filed against Hodgenville Police Chief Steve Johnson.
Matthew Hite, a Bardstown attorney, will stand in for County Attorney Dale Morris in the case.
Chief Johnson was charged last month by Kentucky State Police on one count each of first-degree criminal misconduct and hindering prosecution, both misdemeanors. He is accused of tipping off former mayor Terry L. Cruse and former city clerk MaDonna Hornback in December that KSP was attempting to serve arrest warrants on them.
