-A A +A

The South Fork Area Homemakers met Oct. 18.

Fourteen were present – Virginia Allen, Delores Bale, Janice Bowen, Julie Devore, Exie Elliott, Ann Flanders, Emogene Gardner, Clovis Johnson, Norma Jean McDonald, Martha Owen, Mary Lou Owen, Billie Shahayda, Della Thomas and Patsy Thomas. The roll call was answered by naming our favorite Halloween costume from our childhood.

The minutes were approved as read. Treasurer's report approved as presented.  We earned $575 for the catering we did last month.

The Club has been asked to cater the Farm Bureau dinner at 7 p.m. Dec. 9. The Club agreed to cater the Beef Producers dinner if needed.

The Club will go to Glendale Whistle Stop for an outing 11:30 a.m. Dec. 10.

The lesson “Meditation, Breathing and Stretching Exercise for Stress Release and Flexibility” was presented by Julie Devore. The lesson offered us tools to assist in implementing safe, simple meditation techniques, deep breathing, and basic standing and seated stretching exercises. Through participation in this program and practice of these simple exercises, it should help us increase our physical activity levels and flexibility.

The next meeting is 10:30 a.m. Nov. 15 at the LaRue County Extension Office. New members are always welcome.
