The South Fork Area Homemakers met March 19 at the LaRue County Extension office.
Seventeen were present: Emogene Gardner, Virginia Allen, Delores Bale, Janice Bowen, Julie Devore, Exie Elliott, Ann Flanders, Amanda Gatewood, Mary Lois Hornback, Clovis Johnson, Norma Jean McDonald, Martha Owen, Mary Lou Owen, Della Thomas, Patsy Thomas, Sue Crutcher and Wanda West.
Hostesses were Allen and Devore who decorated for St. Patrick’s Day.
The club voted to sponsor $200 to Project Graduation; $200 to 4-H Camp; and $200 to Relay for Life.
March projects include donations of $200 to Kosair Hospital; $200 to Ronald McDonald House; and $200 to ConkerCancer to purchase fabric to make pillow cases for children in Kosair Hospital.
Members were encouraged to submit quilt squares which will be auctioned at Kentucky Extension Homemakers Association meeting which will be in May or June.
Patsy Thomas gave the lesson, “Focus on Home Preparedness,” a follow-up of the Extension Expo on March 16.
The next meeting is 10:30 a.m. April 16 at the Extension office. Gatewood will present, “Let the Consumer Beware ... in Tough Economic Times.”
