The South Fork Area Homemakers met May 19 at the LaRue County Extension Office with Mary Lou Owen presiding. 

Treasurer’s report was given by Della Thomas and secretary’s report by Bowen.

Officer election for the upcoming year was conducted. President will be Emogene Gardner; vice-president Billie Shalaya; secretary and treasurer Janice Bowen; inspirational leader Delores Bale; and recreation leaders Norma Jean McDonald and Ann E. Flanders.

Other members present were Virginia Allen, Louise Graber, Hazel Hodges, Norma Jean McDonald and former member Exie Elliott.

Certificates of recognition for volunteer hours were presented to Della Thomas and Bowen.

The 2009 Area Annual Homemaker Meeting will be in Springfield Oct. 8.

The club is responsible for the Floral Hall at the County Fair on Thursday and Friday, 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Our club will cater the class reunion for the LCHS Class of 1958 on June 20 at the Buffalo Baptist Fellowship Hall.

The lesson “Family Photos: Care and Display” was given by Owen. She discussed the latest information on photo preservation and care.

The meal inspirational and blessing was given by Bale. A potluck followed.

The next meeting will be June 16 at Sunrise Manor Day Care.
